Young Kitty’s Summer Vacation

Sadly I have to work today (yes – on Saturday) because I’ve been asked to contribute a chapter to a national publication to help land trusts and corporations understand the process of working together on conservation easements. Only the writing is not part of my “real job” so I have to do it on the weekends.
Check back tomorrow for the story that goes along with this image.
It seems that Washington DC newspapers in the early 1900s where happy to report where residents of the capital were spending their summer vacation. That’s how I know that my not yet 2-year old grandmother was enjoying a “protracted stay” at the Washington Hotel in Asbury Park New Jersey with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Bryant in the summer of 1904.
